Fortunately, session time is over,
so after this enormous break it's time to go back to study!
Even if the beginning of the semester may be not the most stressful and
overloaded period of our academic year we have to remember about regularity of
our study revision.
Maybe this time we should check some new 'study hacks' or retry some old
methods that we rejected or forgot. My resolution for the new semester is to
not be forgetting about these great methods, which I used more or less during
the last semester, but I am surely convinced of their great
effectiveness.
1. Notes
Make your notes clear and pretty. A palette of colors and fonts can help
you in the pleasant look of your notes which makes (especially if you are a
visualizer) that you can easily remember not only information saved in your
notebook but also how they were entered there.
Furthermore, try to avoid monotony in your notebook. For some important
and long information draw a colorful mind map instead of writing everything in
one block. Use some signs or marks or put some information on the margin. Variety
of ideas will really help you in your studying.
2. Music
Listen to music while studying. Choose the type of music you enjoy and
focus on your notes. There is evidence that listening to music while studying
can aid memory performance and concentration. Also, when you listen to music
you stress less. Enjoyable songs and bits make us forgot about some anxiety or
anger that we have in our minds and help us to focus on studying.
3. Regularity
Try to read or rewrite your notes after your classes the same day. From
time to time make some revisions to keep it in your mind.
Doing these 3 steps will surely help you with studying.
Can't wait for you to show me your ideas or effective methods to
study!
